Breaking out of Birmingham downside come armed with Ready & Focused and this album should firmly earn them the place on the urban music ladder they so greatly deserve. Featuring two of the UK’s newest raw talent Downside & Mox, this deadly combination is full of soulful street singing and hood hype that with any luck will explode onto the radio in 2012.
This time they are back with Ready & Focused producing something fresh so every track in its own right could take the charts by storm this year.
From Good Stuff with its boom bass line and smooth vocal, to Oh Dam and its unshakeable chorus bringing the feel good summer sound, to album closer ‘Angels and Demons’ with its haunting yet powerful lyrics.
The production on Ready&Focused was brought together with help from producer Ayo who has worked with the likes of, Labrinth, J2K, Roll Deep, Dj Ironik plus many more. He has seen a more confident and considered approach in their pursuit of a mainstream audience rather than the standard pop-urban scene.
Supporting 50 cent has set their career off with a bang and it seems Downside have it all, prepare to see a lot more of them in 2012.
